Spot a glint in customers’ eyes...

For a distinctive, classy addition to any business card, look no further than our foil range.

Due to its typically expensive process, we’ve incorporated a new way of adding foil to our business cards – digital foiling. This method applies glossy, metallic inks on top of lamination in the same way spot varnish is applied. There’s less of an expense when it comes to the setup costs, making our foil cards viable even for short runs - order as few as 100!

Choose from dazzling gold, silver or copper; or stand out with a vibrant red or green foil.

Printed on thick, 450gsm silk stock, paired with matt or soft touch lamination for a perfect finish.

Turnaround Time

Standard: 5 working days

Express: 3 working days

Turnaround times are from supply of correct, print-ready artwork, or if we are doing the design, approval of proofs. Working days are Monday - Friday and exclude bank holidays.

Is this the same as block foiling/hot foiling?

Not quite. Block foiling involves the creation of a metal die which presses the foil onto the cards using heat, leaving the foiled elements slightly recessed/debossed. Our process applies the foil more like an ink, so the foil sits flat on the surface of the card. Since it is not necessary to create a die, it works out more economical, especially for smaller orders.

Can I have this type of foiling on a card without lamination?

Unfortunately not. The digital foil used is a liquid, and has to be applied onto a laminated surface. Without the lamination, it would absorb into the card and you'd lose the full metallic effect.

How do I choose which areas I want to foil?

The digital foiling can be applied to as much or as little of the card as you like. It works really well on decorative elements and icons, as well as larger text. It is applied separately to the full colour print, so there can be fractional mis-alignment (normally not more than 0.5mm), and it can spread very slightly, so we recommend you don't use it for very fine lines or text.

Supplying Your Own Design

Please supply your design as a PDF file, with 3mm bleed. Trim marks are optional.

Finished Size: 85mm x 55mm

Size with Bleed: 91mm x 61mm

Please allow a minimum 3mm safe-zone inside the trim line, which should contain no text or other critical elements.

Please ensure all fonts are embedded or text is converted to outlines/curves.

Foiling

Please provide separate page/pages of your PDF, or separate PDF file/files, showing the exact area that you want the foiling applied to. Do this in a single colour (100% black is normally easiest). Ensure that the page size is set the same as for the printed parts of your design.
